Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes

A favorite spot for campus visitors, the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes is a place for reflection and prayer. It is one-seventh the size of the French shrine where the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette. It was built in 1896 with boulders from farms in the area. It’s a popular site for proposals and regularly hosts outdoor mass.

It’s busiest during football weekends and finals, when it might be difficult to find a place to light a candle. Otherwise it’s one of the most serene spots on campus.
