Craft breweries, wineries and distilleries have been popping up around the area for the past few years, with many churning out some great meals. Here you will find some local favorites to help you plan your tour of our region!
Bare Hands Brewery
Located in a quiet corner of the Granger community, this brewery produces some of the most uniquely flavored beers around. Try the “Thai PA” along with some of their snacks and sandwiches, and you will never want to leave.
Evil Czech Brewery Public House
This brewpub has quite an extensive list of house brews boasting unique flavors and unique names – “Dracula’s Bite” habanero spiced black IPA anyone? The food offerings are also vast, and so very delicious. Stop by for brunch, evening drinks, or the week day lightning lunch and you will understand what all the buzz is about.
This restaurant offers specialty beers, all brewed onsite, with varying flavors and seasonal choices. The food menu is expansive, and the space is inviting, making for a great spot to meet with friends! The University Park Mall location also makes for easy access to nearby shopping.
Located in the heart of downtown South Bend, and next door to the historic State Theatre, South Bend Brew Werks offers beer drinkers a quaint, rustic atmosphere to enjoy some craft creations. Do some people watching while enjoying the outdoor seating, and munch on one (or several) of their small plate options while you’re at it!
Crooked Ewe Brewery + Ale House
Located along the St. Joseph River, this brewery comes with a view. The menu offers unique brews, small and large plates, and “grand finales” that are sure to tickle your taste buds.
Greenbush Brewing Co.
Located in Sawyer, MI just 45 minutes north. This brewery has much to offer with the Taproom, the Annex and beer garden. Known for their house-smoke barbecue, the full menu is available in the Taproom with meats and cheeses available across the street at the Annex. Greenbush is definitely worth the trip!
The Indiana Whiskey Company
A distillery that produces truly excellent, small-batch whiskeys. Everything that touches their whiskey is made in Indiana: the stills, the grains, everything. This veteran owned and operated company is open Monday – Saturday and late on Wednesdays.
Located in Three Oaks, MI just under 40 minutes north you will find this Organic Spirits Distillery. Everything about it is handcrafted. Offering artisan spirits with a focus on whiskey, but also vodka, gin and rum. You will also find Staymaker, a full-service restaurant making use of local ingredients whenever possible. Take a tour today.
Offering tours of their artisan distillery Wednesday through Saturday, with a bar where you can taste and purchase spirits like 18 Vodka. For those so inclined you can purchase a 10 gallon barrel of new make whiskey, and enjoy it as it matures!
Located in Baroda, MI just 40 minutes north, you will find this this winery, brewery and distillery. A fun atmosphere in the warm weather months, bring your dog, lawn chairs and umbrellas for a fun afternoon outside listening to music and having drinking a libation of your choosing.
