The Wall That Heals
The St. Joseph Funeral Home is hosting The Wall That Heals, a 3/4 scaled replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The exhibit consists of the Wall replica and the mobile Education Center. At 375 feet and 7.5 feet high at its tallest point, visitors experience The Wall rising above them as they walk toward the apex. It is erected in a chevron-shape and visitors can do name rubbings of individual service member’s names on The Wall.
After transporting The Wall, the trailer that carries it transforms into a mobile Education center. The exterior features a timeline of “The War and The Wall” and provides additional information about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. Additional exhibits give visitors a better understanding of the legacy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the collection of items left at The Wall.
The Wall That Heals is open free of charge and will be open 24 hours a day from Thursday, Sept. 19 and close at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.
