The 1970s: 150 Series

Fashion in the 1970s included bell-bottoms, gauchos, mini skirts, and maxi dresses. Tie-dyed shirts and military surplus clothing were also in vogue. Hear a presentation by Registrar Kristi Dunn and travel back to the decade when the voting age was lowered to 18, Disney World opened in Florida, President Nixon resigns from office, Jaws becomes a blockbuster film, NASA introduces the first space shuttle, and more.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., curators will be available to talk with you about 1970s items or photographs you’d like to donate to The History Museum.

Tickets are $10/general; $5/members. Reservations are required.
