When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, nowhere in Northern Indiana does it quite like The Bend.
Downtown South Bend throws one of the biggest parties in the region with its Paddy Party and pub tour. Festivities then carry on the next day as visitors line the streets for the parade.

March 15 | DTSB Paddy Party and Pub Tour
Ready for the region’s largest St. Patrick’s Day party? This event has long been a staple of downtown South Bend and the 2019 edition promises to be even better. DTSB is partnering with the South Bend Cubs to put the event on at Four Winds Field. That means upgraded food options, more bands and more VIP areas.
Tickets to the Paddy Party also include admission to the DTSB Pub Tour, with free shuttle service and no cover charge to 20 downtown pubs. It promises to be one of the most festive nights in The Bend this year.
March 16 | St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Celebrate Irish heritage in The Bend at the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which steps off at 11 a.m. on East Jefferson Boulevard in the East Bank. You’ll be able to find the parade route easy enough. Just follow the sound of bagpipes in the air.
March 16 | Greening of the East Race
Immediately following the parade, the East Race Waterway turns green to celebrate the occasion. People will line the race for a look at the river as it turns green before their eyes.
March 16-17 | Sugar Camp Days
Although not St. Patrick’s Day themed, one of our favorite events of the year always falls in at about the same time. Sugar Camp Days at Bendix Woods County Park serves as an unofficial end to winter as visitors watch sap cook into syrup, tour the sugar bush, enjoy live music and much on delicious food. It’s a great way get some family time in as you cap off the weekend.
